Mirabegron untuk Terapi Overactive Bladder

Mirabegron merupakan salah satu pilihan terapi medikamentosa untuk overactive bladder (OAB). Mirabegron menyebabkan relaksasi otot detrusor pada vesika urinaria, di mana pada pasien OAB terdapat kontraksi otot yang tidak dapat diprediksi sehingga menyebabkan gejala inkontinensia urine, urgensi, dan sering buang air kecil.

Mirabegron berbeda dengan obat golongan antimuskarinik seperti tolterodine, oxybutinin, dan solidenacin, karena obat ini merupakan obat golongan baru yaitu agonis β3-adrenoseptor. Obat golongan antimuskarinik sendiri diketahui memiliki profil efek samping yang luas dan tolerabilitas yang rendah, terutama pada lansia. Namun, manfaat, waktu pemberian, serta potensi efek samping mirabegron untuk pasien OAB masih diperdebatkan.[1-4]
