Manajemen kanker payudara metastasis setelah gagal terapi lini pertama menjadi suatu tantangan karena terapi yang ada masih terbatas, terutama untuk jenis kanker reseptor hormonal (HR) positif HER-2 negatif. Kanker payudara jenis ini merupakan kanker payudara yang banyak ditemukan dan diketahui sering mengalami progresi.

Saat ini, terapi lini pertama yang direkomendasikan untuk metastasis kanker payudara HR positif HER-2 negatif adalah kombinasi inhibitor cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 (CDK4/6) dan inhibitor aromatase. Namun, rekomendasi terapi selanjutnya jika kanker masih mengalami progresi meski sudah mendapat terapi lini pertama masih belum pasti.[1-5]
